Throwback #59

Brothers and sisters, so OYC 2011 is over and praise god for such an amazing experience! I just wanted to say, I am so grateful for every single one of you. God has truly blessed us with such a young and inspiring community! Such events like this draws us back to the reminder that God’s love is so strong and is working continuously through service and friendship. He never fails to amaze us!

Yes OYC is over, but our journey to serve the lord never ends but continuously grows. Kogarah, together let us go into the “good fight” for the king! Never be afraid to glorify! Lets continue to serve the lord, fearless against the devils schemes.

Let’s step up, let’s serve in meetings, in camps, even in our households :)

To serve you guys and the lord is such an honour, such a privelige and i am forever thankful. To all the leaders and coordinators, thankyou for the journey that you and god together have made for Kogarah, for Sydney east, for YFC. Your continuous support and passion can be shown through so many brothers and sisters as they smile away, as they say.. PRAISE GOD, FOR THE KING, GOD BLESS! You all have made a big impact in my spiritual growth, my faith, my desire to inspire!

I leave this message with P.U.S.H ( pray until something happens)

Keep smiling each and everyone of you, God who is in everyone deserves to see a smile!

Praying for you all always ♥

heyy brothers and sisters !!

I know i’m very delayed but better late than never right ??

soooo…. Just wanna say how grateful I am to be part of such a blessed and amazing community … Through OYC, it could be clearly seen that many of us grew spiritually and were brought closer to God. I just wanna honour everyone even if you didn’t go to OYC… This year has been a really busy year for many of us and it’s just so incredible to see that we’re all getting through this year together as a family and as the YFC community.. =)

A MASSIVE THANK YOU to our AMAZING LEADERS for everything they’ve done for us… they have done so much to make everything possible and to give us what we call today the Kogarah Unit… oops and how could I possibly forget …. PRAISE GOD FOR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR US AND FOR CONTINUALLY BLESSING US WITH ALL THE OPPORTUNITIES WE’VE BEEN GIVEN !

when we were in our circle during final worship at OYC… it was so amazing to see everyone together and the sense of love, respect and strong faith was clearly felt there… To see the support of each and every one of you through the weekend just made me want to step up and become more eager to bring more people closer to Christ…

I didn’t want to cry because I want you all to know that this is just the beginning of our journey together towards Christ and we have such a long way ahead… Although OYC is over, I really encourage you all to keep praying strong for everything that lies ahead for us this year, we all have something special and have all been chosen to be part of YFC to serve in some way… Continue to pray brothers and sisters and always remember that in YFC, we are the youth FOR Christ and we should always remember that serving and bringing people closer to our Lord is one of our top priorities
♥♥

LOVE YOU ALL KOGS / SYDNEY EAST ! “YOU’RE AMAZING” GOD BLESS ALWAYS AND HAVE A GOOD AND SAFE BREAK ;)
♥♥

Throwback #57

To the brothers,

There is an urgent need for brothers to step up in this community. Not that this time is a special time in particular, but there is always that sense of urgency. I am writing this so that we begin to usher in a new era for the rest of the year, an era where the brothers really start to take control of the mission and lead others to our King.

This is the Lord’s calling for you.

“You did not choose me, I choose you, and called you to bear much fruit — fruit that will last.” John 15:16

It is so easy to rock up to meetings, have fun, make new friends and experience God’s love. It’s even easier to post inspiring messages on Facebook and Tumblr. But when the time comes, when your unit head will ask you to lead a worship, to pray for the food, to do a sharing, to lead a camp – will you be ready? Are you preparing yourself for something greater or are you waiting in idle land waiting for something to happen…

I remember going to GAT09 and all 30 brothers were asked to lead worship over the course of the two weeks. We all took turns exhorting each one another, waking up at 530am in the morning to worship together. Nobody rejected the opportunity and all of us knew that it was our obligation to be pastors in this community. And this is the most important point:

Pastors…

Brothers! I watch you guys and see you be great providers and protectors for the sisters. You take care of them well. But how do I know if the attention you give to the sisters is wholesome unless you pastor them as well? To pastor is to spiritually guide, is to direct them towards seeing Christ, is to be the instrument that invites the Holy Spirit into everyone’s hearts. Without this, you are susceptible to attacks on your integrity, your intentions, your purity and Christ-centredness.

Are you leading them to God? Or are you leading them to you?

I say this with a sense of urgency because, the strength of this community – of an area and a unit – is spearheaded by the strength of the brother leaders. You are the ones called to be the priests, the pastors, the ones who will lead everyone to God. It is your responsibility. It doesn’t just rest on my shoulders, or the shoulders of your unit heads, but of the combined effort of all the brothers in this chapter. We are accountable for each other.

As we move into the post-OYC era, now is the time where your unit heads and household leaders will give you opportunities to be leaders. Don’t get me wrong, the spiritual strength of the brothers in Sydney East is as strong as its ever been. I joined in 2003 and looking back, you are incredibly promising group of future leaders, in comparison to generations before us. But that doesn’t matter. They set the platform for you, and they are the reason why you are in this community. Christ called them to the mission just as he is calling you right now.

For those that were in the circle during the final praisefest at OYC, just know that God prepared that spot for you to be in that circle. He choose you to be there, standing next to your fellow brothers and sisters, because He wants something from you. He first wants you to know His love, and then make His love known.

I dont care how big we are, what other areas say about us, or how many participants we get in the next entry camp. I dont care how talented we are, how awesome our ballers, dancers and singers are, or how cool we dress/look. I don’t care that we say “G’d up” after a prayer, because the quality of the prayer is more important, and sometimes we say that phrase more enthusiastically and with more passion than the prayer itself. You can have all these things, but if there is no Christ, no humility, and no brothers that are willing to take a stand and lead people closer to Him, then we lose this battle, and we become mere pawns of Satan’s evil works.

The time will come when you will be asked to take a stand. When the leaders pass on the baton to you, they are a passing on a legacy that began over 2000 years ago when Christ stretched out his arms. But don’t wait for that baton to be passed.

The time is now.

And as brothers, claim that anointing and be the ones to make Christ a reality in this society we share and live in.

Praying for you all

God bless

:)

Throwback #56

This weekend has been indescribable. During final worship, i couldn’t speak, Krystle pulled me into the circle, but i just couldn’t or else i would have cried in front of all of you. Every single one of you, inspired me immensely. I could feel God working through everyone, it was such an amazing feeling and amazing weekend to watch. To see all of you grow spiritually, to see all of you bring God closer, walk closer with God and follow his calling for all his children. Even though we did not all perform or play sport, we supported our fellow brothers and sisters from other chapters and delegations. We treated everyone like family,(because we are family hehe)

but don’t forget, everything that we do for the KING, is also FOR FAMILY. and For Friends and for yourself. Everything we do, God works through us. So bring home all that love that you made during OYC. Share it with your family, tell them you love them. Share what you learnt with your family. Tell your friends, the great and inspiring weekend you had.

There is so much greatness in all of you!

gosh, love you guys.

FTK! always.

pfft OYC???? wats that???
ONLY THE LIKE AWESOMEST THIS YEAR!!! so far ;)
it went off like fireworks on New Years!
just saying, that the fact i got so emotional at the end says something… i never get that emotional unless it really affects me! shows how much i love you guys

there were many reasons for why i was crying:
1. that fact that i saw how much OYC affected you and that YFC has become one of, if not the most, important thing in our lives today
2. i finally realised how much every single one of you mean to me! every one of you, in Kogarah, Sydney East, and YFC have made a significant impact on my life
3. i realised that God must have definitely intervened in my life, to make sure that one way or another i meet every single one of you! Praise God for He’s might!
4. that fact that we were all engulfed my worship and that we all gathered in a massive circle, probably that largest there was in all of OYC!!! just goes to show how committed we all are! and as len said, the fact that we had HSB Camp, even though i didn’t go, just to get more brothers and/or sisters to come along with us to truly be touched by God!
5. i still remember Kogarah Entry Camp, it felt exactly the same, but like 10 times as strong and as passionate! if you can remember i was on a YFC high for like a month or less… imagine how i feel right at this moment! i miss you guys already btw
i might be on a OYC high but i promise i will not spam our group page (A)
6. i used to say to myself… “why are people crying??? it must really mean a lot to them, and i thought that YFC meant a lot to me. i am pretty sure that you can never see me cry at YFC”… now i can finally understand how every single one of you feel!

Praise God for this weekend! every time i shout my praises this is what i say:
“Every thing we do today, for the rest of the weekend, for the rest of the holidays, for rest of our lives, goes up to you Lord! every thing we do is all for you!…” and i’m pretty sure most of you would agree with that statement.

Chesca Oliva i love you so much for actually introducing me into YFC… you are the sickest cousin out ;P
but of course i love every single one of you! being part of my family and me hopefully being part of yours

there is so much i would like to say, but its hard to put it into words on facebook but if i could talk out loud it would be heaps easier. and i should stop typing because if i kept going you would be reading this for like 20mins probably maybe longer

anyways i’ll stop now :) Praise God for bring you into my life and hopefully me into yours

Praise God, All We Do is? FOR THE KING!!!
God Bless, Take Care, have a safe and happy school break! hopefully i can see you all soon!
Love you long time (cannot emphasise how much i do)
Love, your loving brother in Christ,

Dear Bankstownians,

Just a friendly reminder letting you know that God loves you.. and He’s so glad that you are who you are :) He also wants to let you know how proud he is of all of you, and everything you’ve done for him. You’re all his instruments and it’s been quite evident throughout the past few weeks.. and as we head into our last few days of school/uni let everything we say or do to the people around us be for the King? Amen?

I have a suggestion for y’all :) The moment you wake up in the morning and you feel the sun’s warmth and you hear the birds and see the cloudless skies in the morning, put yourself in the presence of God and do the sign of the cross and make everything you do tomorrow for God.. and if you’re tempted to sin, remember you’re in prayer. And before you sleep, thank God for the blessings in your life and ask Him for strength because we know we shouldn’t rely on our own power..

Have a blessed day tomorrow and don’t forget to put on the armour of God :)

Good mawnin/evening brothers and sisters :)

We all know about spiritual warfare and about the fact that we are in a war. There are so often, so many negative things, pessimistic mindsets and poisonous words that we encounter on a daily basis that try so hard to ruin what we set out to do. To feel love, to share love and to show God’s love to those around us.

It’s so hard to be the person with a mammoth smile even though you’re stressed, or show that love when in reality you’re struggling underneath. It’s so easy to be sucked into the pressure and negativity of the world but Brothers and Sisters, it’s so important to remember that everything we do - we do it FOR THE KING :)

Just know that He is always with you. He notices that lovely smile you have on your face. and he notices the wonderful hug you just gave that person. AND HE NOTICED THAT LIL’ EXTRA EFFORT YOU MADE WITH SO AND SO, I promise :)

:)

oh by the way, You’re lovely!
YEAH YOU!

SYDNEY EAST.

Today was such an eventful day, full of competitiveness, aggressiveness, fun, happiness and etc.. There was just so much going through all of our minds on that day.

Even though we didn’t win the whole competition, we were so blessed and talented enough to make it through the finals.

I know myself, i felt like i let myself and the chapter down, when i stopped trying after the 1st goal the opposing team made. When we lost, it disappointed me, the pressure got to me so much, i was about to puke on the court after the game.

We did win. We won the best prize. Friendships. Its one of the most important things about precons and oyc. Everything we do and have is all for God.

We won. So much. We got so far. and it was all for God. For the King.

I love you guys,

we didn’t lose anything!. We gained more when we lost the game.

God brought us closer.

Brothers and sisters, I just wanted to affirm all of you of God’s love and His great plan for us. I know quite a majority of us have our commitments with school, family and social life but despite that I continually see you all giving it your all for Christ. I want to you know most importantly that Christ, who is looking down on us, is so happy for your efforts. How exciting, 1 more day until HSB CAMP SYDNEY EAST and I must say, to all the service team! Praise God as I continually see you guys support one another! So brothers and sisters, please keep in your prayers all the leaders who are currently falling ill under the devils play! May I stress to you guys to pray for all the service team, may they be in the right mind of the purpose of this weekend. May we all also pray for all the new members as they rely on our prayers :) Although we all won’t be going to this weekends camp, doesn’t mean we can’t support our fellow sisters and brothers through prayer! Lets continue to press on towards God’s uplifting call. Got lots of homework? Study hard, work hard, play hard. family problems? PRAY PRAY PRAY. Remember that Christ is always with you because it is not you who has chosen Him but He who has chosen you. As we continue to do HIS will and follow HIS way, everything shall come together Keep praying! I shall do so for yous as always. ♥

Dear Kogarah Unit,

It’s been a while since i’ve been on facebook , and it may be a bit late but i just wanted to say that i amongst many other brothers and sisters are absolutely blown away by your dedication and commitment to the King. I know it’s hard to balance, family , school and yfc all at one time but you guys are like pro’s at it, teach me ? =D

To the people who participated at the Sports Pre-con, i could see that you all put your 110% best !! You all worked as a team, as a family. Thankyou to the supporters who came to support and cheer on for your brothers and sisters. We couldn’t have done it without you, through the frustration it was swept away by your spirit in the room.

Creative Pre-Con is coming up, and again its time to show your amazing talents brothers and sister. I am blessed to be with such a large number of talented people. Remember its not about winning, its about Him upstairs. It’s for the battle that we are about to fight, remember the Victory is OURS ! Hold your sword up and your shield of faith to the ready cause its time to fight FOR THE KING . Godbless x
